we want to do that. It may be possible to buy a new double wide and a small lot for about the same price as the house and we wont have to worry about the health issue. See the thing is I am super super allergic to mold. Its one of the many reasons I didn't stay in FL with my family. The thing with mold is that you may think you got it all but you may not have and then it comes back. So we are taking one last look at the place tomorrow morning with my step dad. But I think we have already both made up our minds that this is not the place for us. And since it didn't really pass inspection we should be able to get out of this with our earnest money. It sucks though because we had so many hopes and dreams put into that house alreadly. And not to mention boxes packed. But it is what it is. Better to find out now then to find out later when my family gets sick. I hope everyone is having a good Friday and a good first day of April. ALSO April is Autism awareness month!! So the picture at the bottom is for my Baylie Renee.

Probably not....
So it looks like our journey into owning this particular house is coming to a screeching halt. The agency informed me yesterday that the a/c unit is our responsibility to replace. So now we are talking about 1500 [*correction* the estimate from Powder River Heating was $3000 to $3500] to replace and install, then the mold issue that could cost a min of 3o0 or so but as much as 1000 or more depending on how bad it is inside. Soooooo......we just dont have that kind of cash laying around. And yes we could get it added to our loan, but we are not sure

Something will come up. Everything happens for a reason. And like you said if you can get a double wide on a lot and spend about the same, so be it. And then it would be no guessing if your gonna get sick and what not! Something will show up. Keep your head up and it will work out!

Sorry to hear that, but I think you're making the right decision. Better to find a house where health concerns are not even a factor than move in to this one and not know if it may harm you and your families health. My advice is to be patient, the right place will come along when you are ready. Don't get into a rush about it or you may end up with something you can't/won't/don't want to fix. Also, consider resale value for anything you move into. Trailers depreciate, and you NEVER see your improvement money back. Maybe trying to find a stick-built in a good neighborhood that needs some "love" is a better idea? At least that way, you would get your investment money back someday.
