New Hair

This is the before tangles

right after the cut and a rinse

Dried from the front

Dried from the back
I had to cut baylie's hair yesterday. She rocks at night if she wakes up and she rubs huge mats in her hair. So after trying braids, french braid, satin sheets, and tons of leave in conditioner, we decided to cut it. It was hard for me because she had such pretty hair, but totally necessary for both of our sanity. It came out pretty cute, in the mean time until it grows back, we will be working with her to transfer the rocking motion to something else at night. Tell me what you think of the new hair!

School update

Well today we have our IEP (thats individual education plan) meeting for baylie. It took an hour and a half, but it went okay. Basically, as of the 23rd, she will start going 2 times a week monday and thursday from 930 to 1130, to start. Then as we progress we will increase the time she spends there. It will be interesting to see how she does. She had her first community breakfast today. Even though Baylie will come in just after breakfast and leave just before lunch, it was important for them to see how she did. She did very well this morning. We had one spill, but it was purely an accident. So yay! I am excited for this to really start, I am so sure she will thrive in that environment. I just can't wait. YAY!!

OH, and PS. to those of you who are trying to push me into getting Baylie potty trained RIGHT now, back off!! They said she is totally age appropriate right now AND they think (as do I) that once she sees some peer modeling at school that she will not only pick it up but really want to do it. SO BACK OFF ALREADY!!!

I just can't take it

Sorry Beth I know I said I was getting off my soap box now, but I just can't, I am really angry at that comment. This person probably didn't even know you or your kids. How can she equate a funny moment to the abuse and killing of animals? I am so sorry there are people out there that judge so quickly without any prior knowledge or expirence. When I fist met James we went for a drive and we were in a hurry to get back in the truck as it started to rain, I didn't know that he had his hand still stuck in the door when I slammed it shut- on his hand. I laughed so hard I cried. I wasn't laughing at him persay, just the situation and his reaction to it. Should I go to jail for domestic abuse for that? Or buy a puppy and start kicking it? I think not. It's just a different sense of humor. I felt badly for slamming his hand in the door, espcially after I saw that I took a big chunk out of it. But even knowing that I still giggle at it now.
Emotional Damage my butt!! Your children seem well adjusted and happy and anyone who's ever met them will say that. Repitition = learning. Even if that means learning that a cow mooing is nothing to be afraid of. Baylie (who is very social) had a day when she wasn't feeling very good and James' dad came over. Baylie usually loves everyone, but that day she was terrified of him. Does this mean I am never supposed to let him (their grandfather) never come back around? Um, NO! He came back a few weeks later and she was fine, she was just having an off day that day.
I can't stand people who judge so harshly before they know for sure. She should be the one praying for forgiveness. The Bible tells us not to judge, becuase it is not our job to do so. And that is certainly what she did, and she was wrong. SO I hope whoever she is, that she praying that God will forgive her for her sin against His word and against the good people that she decides are otherwise.

Snot and goo for #2

Well and the title implies Daisy has been sick...or at least i thought that's what it was. Really and let me emphasize that REALLY runny nose, puffy eyes, red throat, super slobbery, and an over feeling of yuckiness. how do i know that part, well if you know daisy she has no problem making her thoughts and feelings known. I really did think it was a cold she caught at school (we go with baylie) because baylie had a runny nose for a couple days and a cough, and then I got it. But as it turns out the kids are mostly done with their stuff and no one got it as bad as I did. Daisy it turns out (which I had fist suspected) was getting in a tooth. One that came from the darkness of the back of her mouth. I looked for days for a tooth before I gave up and called it a cold. Then the other day i was brushing her teeth before bed and there it was. 2 days later almost all snot and goo has disappeared and she has no reminents of cough like me. So i guess YAY tooth! But boy the past week or so has really been a bummer with her not feeling good. i will try to get some pics of her little tooths on here soon. As a side note, Beth, I do not envy you having to do teething times 3 if they are anything like Daisy has been.

The end of February Update

So as month number 2 comes to and end for 2009 I think its time for another update! James to start. Still working at the mine, somehow he managed to NOT get the cold we all have right now. He's planning to make the trip back to his family ranch next month. But not much new for him. Me next. Well other than a nasty head cold given to me by my children (not quite what I had in mind when I told them to share) I am about the same. Went to Jami's baby shower- It was very lovely even if I was almost an hour late getting there. We put new flooring in the living room and hall way- woo hoo laminate! We weren't trying but somehow managed to match all of the trim and furniture we already had. Now Baylie. She is doing fine, apparently she got the abbreviated version of the cold-she only had it for a few day. She managed to get the stomach flu 2 times this month. She is really enjoying school though and will start going by herself next month. Also she is turning 3 next month. YAY! Anyone who wants to come the party is on the 7th at 2 at our house. Daisy's turn. Well she started mocking words and just today came up with "hello" and "Daisy" and "PAT PAT, ROLL ROLL" which is her version of patty cake. She got in another tooth making a total of 8. And boy does she know how to use them. She did not escape the 2 versions of the stomach flu her sister had nor was she lucky enough to get the short version of the cold, so she is misserable just like I am right now. In other Soesbe news, my step-dad got a job up here and if it weren't for car trouble would be on his way here now. Which means that this upcoming summer my mom will be coming to move back to WY. again YAY! We miss them so much. Other than that this month has been pretty docile. I promise photos to come soon!

nothings happening

well, we've been working on potty training for the better part of the week and nothing has really happened beyond that first day- its kind of frustrating. i know success comes to those who wait, but my patients is running thin these days. I understand daisy not having much success, but baylie should be picking this right up and she's not. maybe i'm doing something wrong....
